Thomas Blood
Detroit, Michigan
1964-1970

The original band was a genesis of the legendary Midnight Shift band of Swingin' Time
fame with two local 45's that did OK.

Editor's Note:
Keith and I went to high school with vocalist Bob Colone (I think freshman and sophomore years, check
out the high school photo below)...and I gotta tell you, he was one funny, funny guy.
I still remember him pulling his hair out on either side doing his Bozo The Clown impression.
Then there was the night Bob's band was supposed to play a sock hop at our school
(Benedictine High), ...the nuns wouldn't let them go on because their hair was too long.
Sadly, Bob's life was cut way too short when he passed away in his early twenties.

Another interesting note, Bob's cousin Mike Colone was in another very
successful local (Detroit-Ann Arbor based) 70's band... Prismatic.
(Mike...if you're out there, send us some info on your band!) -Dan

Personnel:
Bob Colone - Vocals, Flute, Sax

...and many great Detroit musicians who played in the group after its heyday as a journeyman blues band.

Boogie, Blues, Roland Kirk, etc.

Setlist Sample:
So Many Roads, Vietnam Blues, Poor Man's Reflections.

Equipment:
All the best

Band Vehicles:
Older model Ford & Chevy vans, etc

Fashion Statement:
None given.

Best Gig:
Opening for Savoy Brown and another time for Jeff Beck w/Rod Stewart at the Grande.
Also with The Whiz Kids at Melody Ballroom. Most Fun.

Gig from Hell!:
Some agent put us in a top 40 club. It was tuff but we won them over.

Stopped using the name in 1980's.

Where are they now?
Most of us still play with local blues acts, etc. Example; Bassist Marv Conrad is with
Jim McCarty (Mitch Ryder/Rockets), etc. Bob Colone passed away in a drowning accident in the 70's.
