The Taxmen Madison, Tennessee 1966-1967   We were very accomplished in intricate pop arrangements (compared to many of the other bluesier combos). All members were students at Madison High School       Personnel: Mark Clifton - Guitar, Vocals Bill Anderson - Organ, Vocals Stevie Moore - Bass, Vocals Myron Bryant - Drums Danny Andrews - Vocals Influences: Sixties Top 40 pop-rock, British Invasion (Beatles, Stones, Raiders, Rascals, etc) Setlist Sample: I Ain't Gonna Eat Out My Heart Anymore, A Whiter Shade Of Pale, Good Thing, We Gotta Get Out of This Place Equipment: Fender, Gibson, Slingerland, Ampeg, Kustom, Farfisa Rehearsal Space: Members' garages & basements, Oak Valley Pool in Madison (at the end of Neely's Bend) Band Vehicles: Station wagons Fashion Statement: Black leather vests, purple satin puffy-sleeved shirts, white jeans, black knee boots Best Gig: St. Joseph's, 16 Aug 1967 (grand prize for winning a Battle of the Bands) Gig from Hell!: Don't recall ever playing Hell Last Gig: St. Joseph's Comments: The Taxmen reunited to jam in May 1999 at Myron's; now we will be playing together again for a large MHS reunion in our original gymnasium on Oct 5 2002!
