Squirrel Tooth Annie
was founded by Noel, Tito and John informally in
1971. Their three part vocal harmonies became the
band's trademark. Noel named the band after a
famous "courtesan" of the old west, Squirrel Tooth
Alice. We just thought Annie had a better ring to
it because in those days we were always drunk on
Annie Green Springs wine. We added Allan and Henry
in 1973. Other folks went in and out of the band
but the original 5 remained the strongest line up.
Subsequent members: Wayne Carter - Guitar, steel
guitar, vocals, Ernie Morrow - Guitar, vocals,
Barry Palmerton - Drums, vocals, Steve Wilson -
Drums, Dave Sulzer - Violin, guitar,
vocals.
