Freshman year in college,
Rick Busenbark met fellow freshman Marion Volino
and Kendal Paget. Barry Lloyd and Gary Gullaksen
were fraternity brothers and were looking to form a
band. One night a band played at the college hall.
Rick asked to set in and was told "no way!" He
quickly left and stormed into the dorm and
literally ran into Kendal. Asking about his obvious
rage, he was given the whole story. Rick and Kendal
soon started practicing and working on songs.
Marion was in several of Rick's classes. Rick met
Gary Gullaksen at a frat party. Soon they started
to jam and seriously practice. Several bass players
came and went. Barry Lloyd decided to quit school
and returned home to Chicago. Rick found an old
high school friend, Dave Suri, from Mount Vernon,
Iowa to take over bass. This was the most
consistent line up. (R. Busenbark, G. Gullaksen, D.
Suri, M. Volino and K. Paget. In 1973, Gary
graduated and Rick enrolled in Berklee (Boston) and
the band ended.
