Red Weather
Clawson, Michigan

1969-1973

Evolved out of various formations of the band...becoming a 3 piece hard working Detroit band, inspired by all the big Detroit bands of that day...playing every dance, YMCA, YWCA, school, free concert we could get our hands on. Band broke up after high school and briefly skirting the bar scene in 1973.

Personnel:
Brent Marvin - Bass
Bud Beeler - Drums
Gordy Hunt - Guitar, Organ and Vocals

Influences:
The Frost, The Amboy Dukes, Cream, Yes, Hendrix, James Gang, The Third Power, Gentle Giant

Equipment:
Mostly junk...homemade P.A. with Bogan amp, Kustom bass amp, and stuff.

Rehearsal Space:
Gordy's mom and dad's basement or Brents or Buds parents basement.

Band Vehicles:
Anything we could get

Fashion Statement:
Hippie casual...bell bottoms and stuff

Best Gig:
Debuting at Clawson High School Dance with new drummer Bud and playing all original material to ecstatic hippy crowd.

Gig from Hell!:
Frat House party at Eastern Michigan University , almost didn't get out with our lives. Gordy's brother Dave who was attending EMU got us the job...we didn't play Motown so the jocks almost beat us up and our roadies...still got paid tho...and still talk about that night with fascination. So in a way it was also our best gig.

Last Gig:
Officially it was the Clawson football field August 16th 1973 with our successful line up...Dan Mayer added on lead guitar.

Red Weather and a band called Iron Horse Exchange all jamming together. this was a free concert put together at Clawson Park in 1970. About 15 people came and we had to set up in front of the refreshment stand cuz it was the only Detroit Edison around. Very badly planned and organized by yours truly (Gordy). Gordy Hunt (RW) on farfisa organ, Bud Beeler on drums (RW), Steve McOnahay on guitar (IHE), Dennis Hollopa in the back w/ blonde hair (IHE), Ted Nawrocki; drums (IHE), Mike Picalo; bass (IHE) Mary Kay Strom; tamobourine (RW and Bud's girlfriend), you can't see Allen Beeler on percussion but he's there, and Brent Marvin on bass (RW).

 Where are they now?

WE ARE BACK!!! Reformed with Gordy Hunt, Brent Marvin and Mark Kaiser on drums, playing shows all over Detroit. Still playing our own brand of thinking man's rock and in the process of releasing our first CD on Searchlight Records being recorded in Ann Arbor, MI, with veteran producer, engineer, musician and songwriter Michael Lutz most known for his years with Brownsville Station.
We are having the time of our lives and the music is better than ever.
