Poorboys
Muskegon, Michigan

1963-1966

When we practiced we had so much fun. One day we wanted to put some new music to the test. Beatles, I Feel Fine was figured ou and we just mostly worked on the vocals. Yes we put four part harmony in and sort of a funk beat. It was so cool it still gives me goose bumps just telling the story. As I remember we were affraid to play it at the dance but did it anyway. No comments from the audience but I felt that we nailed it.

Best Gig:
8th grade dance. I remember being able to sing really good that night, and being our first gig and playing in the gym it really sounded huge.

Gig from Hell!:
9th grade Banquet. It was really funny cause everything we did was a catastrophy. Symbols fell during setup. Jon was playing in the wrong key on Devil With The Blue Dress, and we were so loud no one could tell. The cool thing was a friend that was in another better band was there listening and gave us great praise. We needed that.

Last Gig:
9th grade banquet.

Comments:
I really miss the old days of music with my friends. I would really like to get the group togeather one more time just for fun .

 Where are they now?

Well Frank the drummer lives in Georgia. He was a drummer for a well known band there but had a falling out and quit. Jon Reed works in the insurance business...still plays the guitar with me. We just recently bought Fender Strats and are having a ball. I bought a drum maching and we sound pretty good. I am a Sheriffs Deputy for the Muskegon County Sheriff Dept. I have always been interested in music. John Halberg is in construction and I don't see him much.
