Started in '61 as Carl
Parker and the Pastels. Played Saugatuck and South
Haven MI all that summer (Old Crow - Rose Villa).
Left Rose Villa that winter back to Battle Creek.
Played many clubs in Battle Creek in '62 also Coral
Gables in Lansing MI. Carl Parker left the band in
late '63 to sign with Decca Records in New York.
Changed his name to Jonathan Swift. Don Rogers left
in spring of '64 so I revamped the whole band
adding Bobby Dee, Benny Cook, John Anglin and later
Bob Edwards and Rex Buckner. Played mosty southern
Michigan for the next 2 years. Cut a record in
sping of '66 on Phalanx Records. Many local bands
recorded about the same time...The Troys, Jim Head
and the Headliters, Toronotos ect. We did quite
well localy but never made it nationally. We were
playing with groups like Jackey Beavers, Me and Dem
Guys , Jr. Walker ect. We went on the road in '67
with agent Hal Marcus out of N.Y., worked the
midwest all of '67. I left the band early 68. The
band reformed and joined A.C.A. and traveled all
over the U.S. After Dan Benword our
drummer left, Carl Parker hired Bob Pridgon to play
drums with us. Bob was in the air force here in B.
C. He was playing with an local band called Jr.
Walker and The All-Stars. They were only playing 1
or 2 nights a week, so he came with us because we
were playing 6 nights. Bob was one of the best
drummers I've worked with. He taught me how
drummers and bass players should work together. Bob
was with us until he was transferred out in '64. I
never heard from again until today. I received a
email from him and he is still playing. He got my
address from your site, Keep up the good work. Personnel: Influences: Setlist
