Mis' In Lynx
Flint, Michigan

1964-1966

Born out of the dust of the Lords (Cranmore), and Paul's high school instrumental band, they conscripted Conway because he was the only tenor in high school choir-and only guy they knew who could sustain a proper note. Found out his love of blues and New Orleans music (Huey Smith, Ernie K-Doe, Lightnin' Hopkins) and had the biggest record collection. Found drummer Eddie Rousseau banging his drums through somebody's cousin, who also directed us to Tommy ?, who had an old Silvertone and knew how to chord at least...and he was only 14 at the time. We started hammering out a sound, mostly in little Missouri's garage home. Started doing gigs at nearby school, got a manager, who booked us at roller rinks, VFW halls, etc, and within a short period, Riviera Terrace(a VFW hall still) where emerging national acts would appear also. About same time, Tommy was bounced from the band...his age kept the band from playing places that served liquor, and picked up Glen Snyder, Fender bass.

Personnel:
Paul Allen - Lead Guitar
Bill Cranmore - Rhythm

Band Vehicles:
1963 Volkswagen-yes, got all the equipment and all the band in it!

Best Gig:
Any at the Riviera Terrace in Flint, often with breaking acts, like Tom and Jerry (Simon and Garfunkel), Jeff Allen and the Impressions(The Guess Who), ? Mark and the Mysterions (who sucked), The Jazz Masters/Terry Knight and the Pack, and the usual rock-offs-best band shows....won a few.

Gig from Hell!:

Where are they now?

recent emails we received from Bob Conway:

Opened my business on Monday, and in walks the drummer from Mis'in Lynx, and four days later, Bill Cranmore, rhythm guitar, and damn, we now know where 4 of the five are-only one missing is Glen Snyder. Paul Allen is currently playing in Deep Blue Jazz in Fenton/Flint area, Bob has a pharmacy practice in Flint, also living in Williamston/Swartz Creek area, Bill has a hearing aid business in Lansing, and Eddie (Hugh) Rousseau has been performing with the Singing Knights (affiliated with Knights of Columbus) out of Davison, Mich area.  In very early stages of maybe connecting all members, just will see what happens!

I e-mailed you about re-uniting with our drummer, Eddie (Hugh) Rousseau.....he forwarded a picture from when were basically the weekend house band for the Hawaiian Hut in Oscoda in 1965.  The one with the bad attitude and trying to imitate Eric Burden would be me., Bill Cranmore on rhythm on the left, Glen Snyder on Fender bass, myself, Eddie Rousseau on his really ancient jazz drum set, and the guitar wizard, Paul Allen, on Vox 12 string and Fender Strat. We broke up shortly after this picture was taken.

Thanks, Dan, for all the past support, and keeping this dream alive for so many....
