Hobson's Choice
Akron, Ohio

1966-1967

We all graduated in 1967, except "Joe" who got out in '64 (he was the old guy). We used to be called "The Coachmen" but decided to change the name when the band added "Wally" and a new more R&B sound (less British Invasion).

Personnel:
Bill Lawhorn - Bass
Tom Fitt - Organ
John Schmidt - Drums
Joe Macaluso - Lead Guitar
Wally Frantz - Vocals,and Sax

Influences:
Rascals, Stones and the whole R&B thing.

Setlist Sample:
Under My Thumb, Good Lovin', Mustang Sally, Louie Louie.

Equipment:
Vox Berkely II, Westminster, Super Beatle, King Zephyr sax.

Rehearsal Space:
Tom's mom's living room.

Band Vehicles:
Got my Westminster in a VW (believe it or not), Joe got his "Beatle" into a mustang.

Fashion Statement:
I wore a "Tom Jones" shirt, bell bottoms and a huge belt buckle.

Best Gig:
All the gigs at Hoban High.

Gig from Hell!:
Jack and Monte's Bar, reminded me of the bar in the movie "Roadhouse".

Last Gig:
Jack and Monte's before Joe went off to Army Reserves.
