The Allegros
Astoria, Queens, New York

1963-1965

Roger Calleo, Sammy Shapiro, and Rob Rizzo went to New York's High School of Music and Art. Richard Greene went to Long Island City High School and Rich Bowman went elsewhere. We got together to make beautiful music and to be a rival band to the Staffmen. We made one record master tape at Sanders Recording Studio in Manhattan. We may have discoverd three part harmony by accident, but were never sure because it was in Rich Bowman's basement and his little brother erased the tape, the jerk.

 Where are they now?

Roger Calleo lives in Patchogue, Long Island, and plays in a travelling band. Richard Greene is a Registered Nurse in Northern California, and still sings in a church choir. Rob, Sammy, and Rich Bowman fell off the radar screen.
